~The Moment We Shine~

Groups interested in performing at the showcase will be asked to submit their details and an audition video through our Google Forms link. Please keep the following guidelines in mind:

• Audition video length: minimum two (2) minutes, maximum five (5) minutes;
• Content: dance and singing performances;
• Audition song choice does not need to match your final show performance;
• Group consistency: more than half of the members in the audition must be the same members who will appear on stage at Otakuthon;
• Format: upload your video via the form along with your group information, with a Google Drive, Dropbox, or unlisted YouTube video link.
• No adult (18+) content is allowed onstage or in your audition video. 
• Deadline: we will accept audition videos until April 24, 2026.

We encourage creativity, energy, and a performance that reflects your group’s unique style.

A few weeks before the showcase, each group will be invited to send Sunrise a practice video so they can receive encouraging, constructive feedback. Our goal is to support performers — especially newer groups — as they refine their choreography, polish their stage presence, and build confidence leading up to the big day. Groups are also welcome to share additional progress videos whenever they’d like. We’re here to cheer you on, celebrate your growth, and help you shine even brighter when you step onto the Otakuthon stage.

Each selected group will have 5 minutes on stage to perform. This is your moment to shine!

In addition to individual group performances, all participating groups will be invited to join the opening and closing numbers, creating a collaborative and unforgettable showcase experience.

After the showcase, all participating groups will head to a designated panel room for a relaxed and welcoming Meet and Greet. This is a wonderful chance for fans to take photos with their favourite performers, share their support, and enjoy the excitement of the idol community up close. Groups are encouraged to bring freebies, such as photocards, stickers, or small handmade items, to give out to attendees. Please note that no merchandise sales are permitted during this session. The goal is to create a warm, memorable space where performers and fans can connect and celebrate the joy of idol culture together.

Sunrise will also have a table in the Exhibition Hall for a limited time, giving each participating group the opportunity to sell their official merch. Groups will be able to drop off their items, and Sunrise will take care of displaying and managing the table throughout the allotted period. This setup ensures every group can share their creations with fans. Please note that this table will be managed by Sunrise and not Otakuthon.

If you are accepted, please do not preregister. Participants will be provided with a badge for the day of the showcase. You can request to upgrade your day badge to a three-day badge at your own expense.
