Shota Nakama is a music producer and live concert visionary from Okinawa, Japan, based in Boston, USA. Known for bridging cultures and industries, he has built a career at the intersection of video games, rock and orchestral music, and large-scale live production, becoming a leading force in the global game music movement.


As the creator and producer of the Video Game Orchestra (VGO), Shota has been instrumental in redefining how video game music is presented on stage. His productions fuse symphonic scale with rock energy, creating immersive concert experiences that resonate with modern audiences. He has produced and directed numerous official events, including Final Fantasy XV Special Concert at PAX East, Capcom Live official concert tour, My Hero Academia’s U.S. concert premiere at Anime NYC, and Marvel Future Revolution: The Official Concert, the first online concert for Marvel Games. He also served as the producer and creative force behind Sonic Symphony, the official Sonic the Hedgehog concert tour, from 2023 to 2025.


Beyond the stage, Shota is an accomplished producer, composer, and arranger whose work spans major global franchises. Through his production company soundtrec, he has contributed to titles within the Final Fantasy universe and most recently served as music producer and lead Arranger for Marvel Rivals, helping shape the musical identity of Marvel Games’ highly anticipated release. His productions are recognized for their cinematic scope, precision, and ability to translate interactive worlds into powerful musical experiences.
