Interpreter
Welcome to Otakuthon's interpreter section!
This year, we will be offering an interpreter service which will allow you to attend a workshop or panel given in a language that you don't understand. This will be a free service given by bilingual volunteers. Everything will be whispered- that is to say, we will be at your side giving you the general idea of what the presenter said as they speak. We aren't professionals, but we'll try our best. Our resources are limited, however, so it is possible that we might not be able to fulfill all requests. We will be operating on a first-come, first-served basis.
I'm interested!!! What do I do?
A. Once the schedule is online, send an email to interpretation@otakuthon.com and indicate your native language. You must also provide your name, the name of the panel, and the date and time you'll require our services.
We will send you an email a few days before the convention to indicate the name of the interpreter assigned or if, unfortunately, we are unable to fulfill your request.
OR
B. Register at our interpretation table in the registration area; our interpreters will be at your disposal. Please note, however, that if nobody is at the table, all our interpreters are all currently unavailable.
