Back after another successful year at Otakuthon, Arashi Daiko will be offering performances as well as workshops in Japanese drum arts known as "taiko". Having recently celebrated their 25th anniversary, this group has seen many performances and shows; every single one of them different and calling out to the soul. Let the rhythm take over and sway your body with pounding beats: the experience will leave your heart drumming for more!

Yume Mirai is a Japanese dance group which will be presenting several folkloric dances from across Japan. They will also be presenting Awa Odori, a dance from the island of Shikoku.  Come see and participate in the Awa Odori Parade!

Emerging from the underground J-rock scene in Montreal, athenaWaltz draws its inspiration from all sorts of subgenres in Japanese rock. Donning a "visual kei"-influenced style mixed with a unique and modern look, athenaWaltz rocks hard and provides an unforgettable concert experience to any J-music amateur. Though athenaWaltz enjoys creating original music, they also take on covers. From famous anime tunes, like “Ash like Snow” from the Brilliant Green, to J-Rock hits, like "Shunkashuutou" by Alice Nine, this band masters it all while infusing their own charismatic style. Look out for athenaWaltz’s performance at Otakuthon 2009!

DJ United Forces is famous for her well known productions in the Konami game Dance Dance Revolution in Japan as well as in North America. She also appeared on the famous Super Eurobeat albums released exclusively in Japan.

Based in Canada, she has been producing dance music and various types of electronica for the last 6 years. Now working on the international circuit, she recently did a tour around Asia. She is currently the official DJ for the famous Swedish band SMiLE.dk and works under Dicaster Management (Sweden) as their prime DJ.

No Martial Art symbolizes the spirit of the warrior more than the arts of kendo and Iaido. Although the metal swords have been replaced by bamboo and wood, all other aspects of the Samurai Spirit live on in the practice of these martial arts.

This intense training contributes greatly to self-development, builds up a strong character and clears the mind giving the students confidence to overcome daily undertakings with the utmost commitment.

The Feng Huang Wushu Club is a group of athletes passionate about contemporary Wushu. They have been training together for years, pursuing excellence and new challenges.
